The dam being built in Kitulgala will have large impact on Sri Lankan economy. The dam which costs 82.5 million USD will be completed in early 2017. 85% of this money will be coming form the Chinese Government and the rest from the HNB national bank. But with Sri Lanka owing 4.64 billion USD to China and 14.3 billion to the rest of the world, will Sri Lanka be abble to sustain its economy? Even after dis-regarding the fact that Sri Lanka has to opt for Chinese companies and industries which favor China, Sri Lankan government has a very heavy burden of money to repay to the world.
