
Energy in Sri Lanka
Before deciding on building the dam in Kitugala, Sri Lanka still had many options for power with non- renewable energy, which includes coal oil, and fuel, and renewable energy, which includes hydropower, wind power, solar power, and biomass.
Sri Lanka’s three main sources of energy are thermal power (coal, biomass, fuel and oil), Hydropower, and non-conventional renewable sources (wind and solar)
